Racehorse Keno-today generally called just Keno-differs from regular Keno in several ways. The old Keno, like Bingo, required large numbers of players for successful operation; the purchase price of a Keno or Bingo ticket was the same for all players, and games were usually run one night a week, each session lasting only a few hours. Racehorse Keno, on the other hand, can be dealt to one or more gamblers; each player can wager any amount he likes on a single ticket provided it is within the house betting limits, and the Racehorse Keno parlors in Nevada operate 24 hours a day, with a new game dealt every few minutes.
Racehorse Keno parlors seating from 50 to over, 300 players are usually located in a prominent part of the casino. They contain several tables loaded with Keno outside tickets, and the players are supplied with ink and brushes or black crayon. Each ticket bears the numbers 1 through 80 and the player marks on his ticket the numbers he wishes to play and the sum he is wagering. He presents his cash and the marked outside ticket at the Keno counter where the dealer makes two duplicates by punching out the numbers on an inside ticket which bears the 80 numbers and also the number of the game to be played and the name of the florida lottery casino. The dealer gives the player one copy and retains the original and the other copy. These are checked after the games have been played and are paid off if the ticket wins. If seated in a casino restaurant, the player simply marks his ticket with a black crayon and hands the marked ticket and cash to a traveling Keno girl who handles all the details.
Casino Bingo
A Bingo blower behind the Keno counter contains 80 numbered Ping-Pong balls and 20 of these are drawn. As each ball is drawn, its number is called and flashed on the electrically lighted tally board. When the 20th ball has been drawn, the game ends. A great number of different bets can be made at Racehorse Keno because the players can select various combinations of numbers. And I-spot ticket is one on which a player has marked, and is betting on, a single number. If that number appears in the 20 drawn numbers, the player wins. If he marks two numbers it is a 2-spot ticket, and he wins if both numbers appear among the 20 which are drawn. He may mark and bet on groups of as many as 15 numbers, but the most popular ticket is the 10 spot.
The player selects ten numbers, marks his ticket, gives it with the amount of his bet to the dealers and receives a punched duplicate. The player wins if 5 or more of his numbers appear in the 20 drawn numbers.
